Fred Barry, Musical Director, "First Time Out" CDFred Berry, professional trumpet player and jazz educator, has resided in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1966, teaching at the College of San Mateo and working as a freelance performer. He is also Director of the Jazz Ensemble at Stanford University.

Fred is actively involved in jazz education as a director, clinician and adjudicator. He has performed or recorded with such artists as Count Basie, Bennie Carter, McCoy Tyner, Joe Henderson, Dizzy Gillespie, Lionel Hampton, Lou Rawls, Max Roach, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Natalie Cole, Nancy Wilson, Lena Horne, Billy Eckstine, Steve Allen, Hubert Laws, Bobby Hutcherson, and Louis Bellson.

He is also actively involved as a contractor, conductor and bandleader, and he serves a Musical Director for the Northern California Louis Bellson Orchestra.
